Here's an introduction to a children's playground located in the backstreets of Tansu-cho, Shinjuku-ku. It's close to the main office of Obunsha, which is familiar to those who take the Eiken English proficiency test.

Asahi Children's Playground is located in a residential area, off Ushigome-Chuo Street.
You can access Asahi Children's Playground from Exit A1 of Ushigome-Kagurazaka Station,
but there are two ways to get there: either via the Ushigome-Kitamachi intersection and around, or via the Ward Citizen's Center (more on the latter below).

Now, at the entrance of the playground, there's a pergola with brick pillars. There are also stools scattered around, like something out of a Pino ad!

It's quite spacious for a playground, with slides and swings. There is gravel where the children play, and stone paving leading to the entrance of the Ward Citizen's Center.

And there were benches for two people lined up on both ends of the park. They are in a perfect location for resting while watching your children play.

There are also benches near the public restroom on the opposite side. There was a lot of planting here.
It might be a bit cramped in terms of space, though.

The benches are also kept clean.

As mentioned at the beginning, you can pass through from Ushigome-Tansu-machi Ward Citizen's Center to Asahi Children's Playground.
I thought it would be inconvenient to access from the station if this passage wasn't available!

The passage is open from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
So, why not consider using it as a place to rest near Ushigome-Kagurazaka Station?
