To get to Bunkyo Miyashita Park, exit the South Exit of Sugamo Station and head towards the main street called Hakusan-dori, which is National Route 17.
Go past Sugamo Bridge, proceed towards Sengoku Station, and turn into the road past Golf Partner and Origin Bento towards Otsuka. You will then arrive at the Bunkyo Miyashita Park intersection.
And there, at the corner of the intersection, you will see the entrance to Miyashita Park.

This is a relatively large park in the Sugamo area, with a natural environment surrounded by many trees.
And, there are many benches installed in the park where you can sit and rest.

This is a two-seater bench on the left side after entering from the intersection entrance.
It was a beautiful bench under the shade of trees, so I took a short break here.

Although it was a very hot time of year, I was able to rest more comfortably than I expected.
I liked that I was able to rest without feeling cramped, as there was plenty of space in the park.

Unusually, there was a ball game space covered with a net.
Here, you can enjoy baseball and catch.
(It's tough that you can't casually play with a ball in the city center...)
The operating hours are from 8:00 to 18:00.

On the opposite side of the ball game space, there were four colorful single-seater benches lined up.
It's somehow fashionable for a municipal park.
Which color bench should we sit on?

It's a rare SL steam locomotive playground equipment.
If you look closely, you'll see that it's well-made and you can play in various ways.
If you have children, they will surely be delighted.

Along with the public toilets, two-seater wooden benches are installed.
There were also panda and tanuki (raccoon dog?) spring-type playground equipment.

So, that was an introduction to Bunkyo Miyashita Park.
From a resting perspective, it was perfect for taking a break, as there are many benches installed in the spacious park, and it's shaded by trees.
The facilities are also well-equipped, such as playground equipment and ball game spaces, so it's also suitable for families and those who want their children to play near Sugamo Station.
However, there is a smoking area in the central part of the park, so the smell of cigarettes may be a bit of a concern.
Why not use it as a resting place near Sugamo Station?
