To get to Sugamo 4-chome Children's Playground, exit the north exit of Sugamo Station and head towards Sugamo Jizo-dori Shopping Street.
Go past Kogan-ji Temple and continue straight along the shopping street for a while, then turn into the alley of Maruji No. 2 building, famous for its "red pants."
Then, when you head towards Fight Gyoza, you'll see the children's playground on your right.

As it's a children's playground, the area is compact.
It's surrounded by greenery, and when I visited around 2 PM in July, there were many shaded areas.

There are two single-seater benches on the left side, near the private houses, right after entering the children's playground.
The comfort and feel aren't something you can expect much from, but since it was shaded even in the scorching heat, it's a good place to take a break if you're feeling exhausted from the heat.
Since the playground is located at the back of an alley, there weren't many users.
Sugamo surprisingly doesn't have many places to sit, so keep this in mind as a hidden break spot.

There was a large cherry tree, so if it's cherry blossom season, you can relax and have a picnic here while enjoying the cherry blossoms.
There was a surprisingly large swing set. Also, there's one piece of playground equipment for grinding.
Also, near this resting place, there's a shop called "Fight Gyoza," famous for its white gyoza (dumplings made with dough similar to French bread) that are oval-shaped.

It was hot inside, but I really fought with the gyoza.
If you want to eat gyoza in Sugamo, definitely check it out!
Also, there's a resting place nearby, "Sugamo Post Office," so please stop by as well.
So, why not use this as a place to take a break around Sugamo Station?
