To get to Togoshi Hachiman Shrine, take the train to Togoshi Station, pass through Togoshi Ginza Onsen, and you'll find it on the way to Togoshi Park, nestled in a residential area.
If you turn off a side street from Togoshi Ginza, you'll see the trees of the shrine grounds, which will serve as a good landmark to help you find it.
Togoshi Hachiman Shrine is a peaceful shrine tucked away in a residential area, but it has a long history and hosts various events throughout the year.
They offer a wide variety of goshuin (temple seals), making it a popular spot for women who enjoy collecting them.
And guess what? There are places to sit and relax within the grounds of Togoshi Hachiman Shrine.

There are 4 wooden benches that can seat 3 people each, and 10 sofa seats available.
It's quite unique for a shrine to have such a relaxing area, isn't it?
The sofa seats on the shrine grounds are especially lovely, don't you think?
It's a wonderful place to take a break and relax in the dappled sunlight filtering through the trees!
As for how crowded it gets, I checked on weekends and holidays, and as you can see in the photos, there were only 4 people using the space.
Many women come here to collect goshuin.
I stumbled upon Togoshi Hachiman Shrine after visiting "Kame-san Hiroba", and I might have missed it if I hadn't found the side street.
It was a really nice place to relax.
It's a great idea to take a detour and visit the Hachiman Shrine, not just the Togoshi Ginza shopping street!
Also, I recommend "Bunko no Mori", a beautiful park nearby, so be sure to check it out as well.
Why not give it a try as a place to sit and relax around Togoshi?
