Welcome to Toyama Station! As you step out of the Hokuriku Shinkansen's central ticket gate, you'll find a north-south passage stretching out before you.
The light rail platform and the ticket gates for Ainokaze Toyama Railway are also nearby.

The beautiful station building is already lifting your spirits, isn't it?
And, right in front of the central ticket gate, you'll find benches that are perfect for meeting up or waiting for the Shinkansen.

There are benches for three people set up around the pillars inside the station.
Since it's indoors, you can relax and rest without worrying about the rain. There's plenty of space, so you can take your time.

The wooden benches have a layered design, like a mille-feuille pastry. The L-angle accent in the middle adds a touch of style.
I took the photo in a hurry, so it's a little blurry...
This spot also seems like a great place to quickly enjoy a boxed lunch near Toyama Station.

If you walk straight from the Shinkansen exit, you'll reach the light rail platform, making it easy to start your Toyama sightseeing right away♪

Along the north-south passage in front of the Shinkansen ticket gates, you'll find the Ainokaze Toyama Railway ticket gates.
The area next to the ticket gates is currently under construction, but there's a place where you can sit and rest.

There are wave-shaped benches that can seat four people. There were four of them when I visited.
This area is also covered, so you can use it even on rainy days. It's a great place to meet up when using the Ainokaze Line.

There are coin lockers nearby.
If you're looking for lockers at Toyama Station, remember that they're located near the benches next to the Ainokaze Toyama Railway ticket gates.
Also, don't miss the table seats on the 2nd floor deck right in front of the Shinkansen ticket gates!
By the way, if you're traveling to Toyama on the Hokuriku Shinkansen, a Shinkansen package deal is an overwhelmingly good value♪
I stayed at the Mantenhote, which is a 10-minute walk from Toyama Station, and it was about 8,000 yen cheaper than booking the Shinkansen and hotel separately!
This is a must-see if you're using the Hokuriku Shinkansen, so be sure to check it out.
So, why not use these spots as resting places around Toyama Station?
