CIAL Tsurumi is a unique commercial facility, isn't it?
This building has six floors and incorporates a Japanese aesthetic, with themes of Buddhism and Zen. How interesting!
Perhaps this is because Sōjiji Temple, the head temple of the Sōtō sect of Buddhism, is located on Tsurumigaoka in Tsurumi, near Tsurumi Station's west exit.
And, to get to CIAL Tsurumi, it's a building directly connected to the station, right in front of the east exit of Tsurumi Station.
Let's head up to the RF (rooftop) using the elevator inside CIAL Tsurumi.

You'll be greeted by a flowing water object on the wall. (A slight smell of chlorine...)
It feels like the entrance of a hotel or apartment, doesn't it?

There was a sign for the rooftop garden "Seifuen".
"In the garden where a refreshing breeze blows, you can cast away worldly desires and thoughts, and reach a state of unity with nature."
Unlike the rooftop of a regular commercial facility, the concept is Zen culture!

The deck and lawn areas are separated by curved fences, creating an undulating rock garden.
Even so, what do you think of angel wing-like illuminations in a Japanese garden...?

There were four two-seater benches set up along the wooden fence of the garden.
Unfortunately, I visited on a rainy day, so the photos don't look as good, but you can relax in a quiet space while looking at the garden.
It's easy to access from Tsurumi Station, and it's a great place to relax, read a book, and unwind♪

The rooftop garden is divided into north and south areas, and on the south side, there was a garden called "Zatsukitei".
At the entrance, there was a sign saying "Please insert your point card into the card reader," but it was open when Pen-ta visited.
Perhaps, it might be a service limited to members depending on the time of year.

I was surprised!
I've visited many rooftop gardens and plazas in and around Tokyo, but to think there would be a dry landscape garden in a station building in Tsurumi...
It's a rare opportunity to see a dry landscape garden just a 2-minute walk from the Keihin-Tohoku Line station.

Beautiful patterns were drawn in the white sand.
A simple dry landscape garden built on a flat surface, is it a flat garden style?

There were three two-seater benches for viewing in front of the dry landscape garden.
A rooftop rest area in Tsurumi where you can spend time in peace...
Moreover, the fences of the garden prevent tall buildings from coming into view, so you won't be distracted.
It would be a shame if the signs of consumer finance companies and electronics retailers were prominently visible, even though it's a dry landscape garden (laughs)

There was a vending machine and a trash can in the rooftop garden.
How about enjoying a hot coffee on a cold day, sitting on a bench, and slowly observing the garden?
Also, it seems like a great place to eat your lunch from Tsurumi♪
You can choose something delicious from the deli and bento shops and eat it here.
Also, there's also a rest area at "CIAL Tsurumi Escalator", so be sure to check that out as well!
So, why not take advantage of CIAL Tsurumi and use it as a resting place in Tsurumi while you're shopping?
