Yushima Tenmangu Shrine is dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning, and is visited by many students praying for success in their exams.
It was once called Yushima Shrine.

To get to Yushima Tenmangu Shrine, go south from Exit 3 of Yushima Station and follow the Gakumon no Michi (Path of Learning). (The video at the end of the article introduces Yushima Tenmangu Shrine)
Another highlight of the shrine is the Nadeushi (Touching Cow) in the precincts. Tenmangu shrines are famous for the cows that Michizane cherished.

As you stroll around Yushima Tenmangu Shrine, you'll find a rest area near the plum garden.
You can relax and comfortably take a break on the benches in the shade.

There are three benches that can seat three people each. It seems like a great place to have lunch in Yushima while you're visiting the shrine!
There is also a small waterfall in the garden of the precincts, making it a charming spot.
So, why not use it as a relaxing place to sit down near Yushima Station?
