This time, we're starting our investigation of rest areas abroad! Our destination is "Taipei."
Ruifang Station is a terminal station where the Yilan Line and Pingxi Line of Taiwan's TRA (Taiwan Railways Administration) intersect.
It serves as a transportation hub for visiting local Taipei tourist spots such as Shifen, Houtong, and Jiufen.

This is Ruifang Station. We used it when going from Houtong to Jiufen.
You can access Jiufen from Ruifang by taxi for a fixed fare.
Oh, and by the way, there are benches in Houtong Cat Village where you can rest, so it's good to keep that in mind ♪

The area in front of Ruifang Station is a plaza, and preparations for a mini-live event were underway.
It's quite a spacious area, and it's used as a place of relaxation for local residents.
By the way, there's a taxi rotary right next to the plaza.
Taxis targeting tourists heading to Jiufen, which peaks in the evening, were lined up in a row.

And, there were many wooden three-seater benches installed in the plaza.
Many tourists use the benches, and it's a good idea to take a break here before going to Jiufen.
Because Jiufen is extremely crowded and there are few places to rest...

There are benches surrounding the plaza, so you can relax without feeling cramped.
Compared to other countries, you rarely get solicited or spoken to, so it's nice that you can rest relatively peacefully.
It seems you can also go to Jiufen on the bus in front of you.

So, if you're taking a break, you'll probably want some tapioca, right?
When I was strolling around near Ruifang Station, I found famous chain tapioca drink shops like 50 Lan and CoCo!

So, I bought some!
I like the chewy tapioca, so I buy it at CoCo ♪
I went back to the bench in the plaza and took a leisurely break while drinking tapioca for about 30 minutes.
Bench × Tapioca is the best, isn't it!? Am I the only one who thinks so??
If you're going to Jiufen, I also recommend the benches at the observation deck, which is a hidden gem for night views and a place to rest ♪
By the way, I used an LCC (Low Cost Carrier) for the first time on this trip to Taiwan, and it was more comfortable than I expected, and I was able to go to Taiwan at a low price!
Here's a report on what it was like inside the LCC and what I found out after actually using it, even on a tight budget.
That's all for Ruifang Station, how about using it as a place to sit and rest?
